Lockdown Honoured for Promoting Cork Fashion
2016 got off to a great start!
We were delighted to be recognised at a reception at the City Hall in January for promoting the fashion industry locally through establishing Cork Fashion Week.
Now in its eighth year, Cork Fashion Week celebrates the design talent that comes out of Cork fashion college courses and provides career and business mentoring opportunities for them as well as promoting local independent boutiques and creative artists in the industry.
Pat Walker, model and assistant event producer for Cork Fashion Week said: “These two girls have changed the face of fashion in Cork for the better providing opportunities for everyone from makeup artists to hairstylists and designers to boutiques to name but a few. They have linked businesses throughout the city and county and put Cork on the map nationally and internationally as a now highly regarded fashion city.”
Deputy Lord Mayor Mick Nugent said Cork was fortunate to have such hard working young entrepreneurs working to grow the fashion industry in Cork and put it on the map.
It was such a beautiful evening surrounded by family & all our fashion friends. We continued the celebrations at Club Brasserie. Not bad for a Tuesday in January.
